Reports are being recieved that a Muslim congregation is looking to relocate their Mosque to Milton. While nothing has yet been set in stone, word is they are focusing on a six acre parcel off of Cogburn Road.
Keep on eye on Accessmilton.com as this story develops.
How are they going to make their church "blend" into the rural atmosphere in Milton? Put a 4 board fence around it??
ReplyDeleteGood luck Design Review Board and Planning Commission with this one if it comes to fruition.
FYI...14355 has recently been quit claim deeded to the "Atlanta Muslim Nonprofit" and there was a "gathering" of over 60 cars at that home on December 25th. It is currently zoned AG-1. I didn't think you could run a church, mosque, etc. out of a home?
ReplyDeleteI guess the Morman/Church of the Latter Day Saints church (who tried multiple time for zoning on multiple parcels) would be pretty upset and well positioned to litigate against the city if preferential reatment were being given to another religious group.
Nothing like jumping to conclusions and issuing threats of litigation.
ReplyDeleteYour energy would be better used looking into the councilmember entangled in legal troubles in California and Tennessee.
Tell me more about the legal troubles. It was posted several times back in the blogs but needs to come back up front and center again.
ReplyDeleteThis seems far fetched but if true could be interesting. Don't assume the worst.
ReplyDeleteNot far fetched at all. Why else would the councilmember answer the claims on this blog then beef up her answer the next day? Very suspicious.
ReplyDeleteYou people need to get out of fantasy land and deal with reality a bit.
ReplyDeleteWhose reality? The one the council member got you to buy or the one revealed in the courts?
ReplyDeleteWhat does Karen have to do with a Muslim place of worship? How about posting your comments about Tennessee back about a month ago.
ReplyDeleteShe used to attend a Muslim Mosque in Tennesee last year. About once a month she and her husband ventured up to a little town called Lebanon, although they kept this pretty much to themeselves. Sometimes they would bring their dog.
ReplyDeleteWhat's humorous about a councilmember's questionable involvement and huge family investment in a company that preyed on our soldiers, knowingly targeting those scheduled for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan? Her family has a long history with this loan company. How is it that she didn't know what it was doing?
ReplyDeleteNo jumping to conclusions here....feel free to look at the Fulton County Superior Court Deed Room:
ReplyDeleteThe filing details are as follows:
Filing Date: 8/13/2009
Book: 48278
Page: 78 & 79
"Assalamu Alaykum"
That is an expression Muslims say whenever they meet one another, translated as "Peace be upon you."
ReplyDeleteAnd you too.
Again please leave her religion out of this. That is her personal prefference.
ReplyDeleteIsn't her dogs name "Moses"? I think this is more than a by chance?
