It asks:
"Who Would You Vote For If 2011's Council Election Took Place Now?"
Note that districts 2, 4, and 6 will be up for election in 2011. Each seat's poll will be referenced in two week intervals in sequential order.

The previous poll asked:
"Which should the city activate to slow down speeders in the open road neighborhoods?"
RESULTS:
1. Activate a city wide speed limit of 35mph - 30%
2. Hire more officers - 40%
3. Nothing - 30%
This is a ridiculous poll. How can you put anyone up against no one and expect a reasonable answer? You need a third option.

ReplyDeleteBack to the first blog point, how can anyone answer this poll the way it is asked? That would be like asking the nation, Obama or anyone but him, including a cadaver. I believe the cadaver would win. It would be like Weekend at Bernies, where people take the dead guy around, and he is the life of the party, even thouugh he is dead. I nominate Bernie now for President!
ReplyDeleteI like Julie and was a big supporter of hers initially but after seeing her in action I could not vote for her again.
ReplyDeleteIf you attend a council meeting you will notice that while the rest of the elected officials seem to have done their homework and gotten answers to their questions before the meeting, Julie is totally unprepared and has to ask question after question and just seems to be so unpreparred? Maybe its because she is teaching now but maybe she should choose between the two!
I hear Gordon Hunter is planning on running again and will probably win?

Gordon is so up the noses and in the ears of Lusk and Thurman, and good friends with the city's nemisis, Neil O'Brien, it ain't funny. No Way. New Blood!!! We are over the Gordon Hunter vs. Julie Bailey saga out here, and the crap that has gone on and on and on for almost 4 years now. New people, new blood.

ReplyDelete1). This is a very common polling technique. Candidate A vs. anyone. Yes you could add other choices but it is very common to poll vs an anonymous challenger. Most people can figure out it is not vs. an inanimate object. This technique is generally utilized when the poller has an agenda to show that the candidate is not well liked :-)
2). I have been to meetings and at first thought that Julie was unprepared but I have later come to my own conclusion that she is does this on purpose. Kind of like a poor attempt to imitate a trial lawyer. It's really juvenile and borders on embarrassing.
3). Please don't make rude comments about people's families. How would you feel if it was done to you? It is really best if you can stick to facts and/or opinions about the candidate's actions or voting record. Not sure why so many folks on this blog like to say things that they would never say to a person's face.
