Even signs and post on the rights of way has to meet the MUTCD just like speed humps. They have to be a break away style. Anything on the rights away should be approved by the city and not the property owner. Mailboxs are hit everyday and the city and land owner always lose the battle. When the spped design comes into play you will have a flat top in the middle of the hump that could be 12 feet in lenght. So it would be 12feet up 12feet top and 12feet down. This is a common design for 25mph subdivisions. There are several problems with the poorly designed speed hump install in the pictures. http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/htm/2003r1r2/part3/part3-toc.htmAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21862313.post-2693639925168195592010-01-21T10:04:10.485-08:002010-01-21T10:04:10.485-08:00Let's put in traffic circles instead of speed ...Let's put in traffic circles instead of speed bumps - and pay for them by putting cell towers in the center.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21862313.post-90636392025549109072010-01-21T09:44:06.783-08:002010-01-21T09:44:06.783-08:00Nevermind, I see now.
